The Journey
Everyone has a spiritual journey whether or not we are aware of it. It might look like devotion, commitment, escape, presence, introspection, action, denial, or even addiction. St. Paul, for example, speaks of the thorn in his side, II Corinthians 12:7-10. The blog part of this website attempts to showcase the stories of real Christians or people who are curious about Christ and Christianity. These stories will describe their ups and downs, failures and successes, darkness and light, sadness and joy (1 John 1:5-10). They tell of experiences that change their life-trajectories or changed them as persons. For example, born-again individuals, like the editor/owner of this website/blog is a born-again Christian. Former President Jimmy Carter referred to himself as born-again.

Christ Sees
Jesus was able to tune into people. It seems he could just look at them and see beyond the externals into their hearts. He sensed their spirits, whether it was powerful people like the Pharisees and Sadducees, - Matthew 23:25-26 or the poor and powerless like the paralytic man waiting at the Bethesda pool -John 15:1-5. or the women who were his followers, like Mary Magdalene. Jesus the Christ was human and is both God and man. Perhaps an aspect of his divine nature in his time on Earth was his ability to "read the souls" of people. However as a man he endured the same conflicts, feelings, and struggles that other humans do. Although without sin, he was not without hurt, anger, disappointment, fear, joy, and loneliness. His love and compassion have been an inspiration for millions. His Spirit is still alive, present and active on planet Earth and in its inhabitants. We hope this website will show you Christ alive here.

Acceptance of others
This website and blog attempt to accept people where they are and provides a space for them to describe their spiritual journeys, including the hills and valleys, deserts as well as the lush gardens of joy and grace. Christ lives in our spirits, sometimes exhibited in our passions, sometimes in our escapes, always in our behavior. One popular writer speaks of these journeys and individuals as people who are ragamuffins.
Most of us believe in God's grace - in theory. But somehow we can't seem to apply it in our daily lives. We continue to see Him as a small-minded bookkeeper, tallying our failures and successes on a score sheet. Yet God gives us His grace, willingly, no matter what we've done. We come to him as ragamuffins- dirty - bedraggled, and beat-up. And when we sit at His feet, He smiles upon us, the chosen objects of His 'furious love." - Brennan Manning - The Ragamuffin Gospel - free to you in pdf form
II Corinthians 12:7-10
7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
